Kaziranga National Park
For the adventure lovers, Kaziranga National Park is the place to be. Covering an area of approximately 430-sq-kms with its swamps, rugged reeds, and tall thickets of elephant grass, Kaziranga National Park is located on the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra River in the far North East of India, Assam. A world heritage site, its famous for the Great Indian One-Horned Rhino.
The best time to visit Kaziranga National Park from mid-November to early April months. That is also the time when the park is open. Visitors can ride on the elephants to move around the park or cruise in a boat on the Brahmaputra along the park. The park also conducts Jeep Safaris for those interested.
The park is well connected by road, were one can take the bus or hired cars. The nearest airport is situated at Jorhat, 97-km from the park. The other airport is located at Guwahati, which is 217-km from Kaziranga. The Tezpur airport is also quite close to the park.
